  1. The minutes – were accepted as a correct record.

  1. Matt Parsons, the new Supporters Liaison Officer

SR welcomed Matt to Ashton Gate.  MP explained that he was very happy to be appointed as fulltime SLO.  He is a City supporter, who attended as many matches as he could in his last employment with Arsenal but now intends to attend all matches.  He is currently talking to as many people as possible and compiling a list of ideas and actions, which he will discuss with Mark Ashton to draw up a plan of action.

  1. Supporters Bar

On matchdays the bar is working to 90/95% capacity (110) and the TVs are all working.  Draft Thatchers cider is required and a better choice of beer, also its quality.  It was decided not to acquire a portable stage but to fit a removable curtain for the opening to the Sports Bar.  Half-time attracts around 10 people with less post-match – potential for improvement.  A guest list should be compiled if people arrive without cards.

Action MP – to investigate the possibility of live music post-match

Action JD – to investigate the choice and quality of drinks available

Action MK – signage needed to toilets

  1. Legal case

We had already committed around £5K and we are now approaching the next stage when both sides have to exchange particulars of the case.  If it is necessary to go to trial, the defendants will be at personal risk.  We anticipate that up to around £20K would cover the individual risks to the plaintiffs. Support has been received from the Club, who have also agreed to put out a statement when we release our statement to the media.  A very similar case in Wrexham last year was taken up by a father on his and his son’s behalf and they have won.  The barrister in that case is now working for us.

Motion – to set aside a further £13K for this case (£18K in all) – carried unanimously.

  1. AGM debrief

The meeting was very successful.  Notably members voted unanimously to continue with the legal case.

  1. Ashton Gate 8 plaque – re-positioning

MH had had no response to his email.  ST could be asked to fix it at eye level – action MH.

  1. OTIB fans forum

It was agreed to look at income streams – action JD?

  1. FansBet

This meeting was to decide whether to take up FansBets’s offer for a trial period.  There had been a slim majority in favour up to this point.  However Supporters Direct were found not to encourage it and Premier League trusts had voted 9-1 against it – with Manchester United being in the minority. Also, although members at the AGM were broadly supportive, the board felt that the absence of a specific reason to fundraise for a community project meant that it wasn’t enough to overcome some of the moral objections being made.

Motion – to take up FansBets’s offer – For 3-3 Against with 5 abstentions.

Thus we will not be taking up their offer.

  1. Possible joint projects with the Community Trust

The community side of our activity is the weakest.  A number of ideas were floated.

Action all – ideas next meeting for projects alone or combined with BCFC Community Trust.

  1. Membership update

There are 368 paid up members according to the latest review; the latest membership number is 977.  There is a natural turnover of membership but many have lapsed due to payment problems such as cards going out of date.  JD has offered to help manage our database in this respect.  No cash payments are being made on matchdays now.

  1. AOB – emergency items
